Classes, Courses & Services Offered

 Register for a private initial Illinois Conceal Carry License (IL CCL) 16hr Course... where we come to you! This course is taught in the comfort of your own home over two 8hr days (does not have to be consecutive days), where we will go over all of the necessary curriculum mandated by the Illinois State Police. Either a provided television can be used (available HDMI port in working condition is required) or we will bring a laptop and/or projector along with us. This course satisfies all federal and state requirements for obtaining your IL CCL for the first time. Students will learn about their constitutional rights, the "do's and do nots" of concealed carry, when you can and cannot legally fire, safe storage, how laws/ordinances vary from location to location, and much more.

The slides portion will take place all of Day 1 and the first half of Day 2. The live-fire qualification will then take place at J.R. Shooting Sports in Aurora, IL once we conclude with the presentation on Day 2 and after lunch (other ranges may be possible with 7 day advance notice). Students will meet on the showroom floor for a range safety brief and instructions before we begin. Please bring everything you will need to qualify inside at the start of the qualification. A minimum of 100 rounds and two magazines is suggested. Ammunition, eye and ear protection can be purchased on-site. Firearm rentals are also available. We will provide one B27 Silhouette target, which you are allowed to keep once done.

If needed, we can also complete and submit your IL CCL application process for an additional fee. Be at ease and take comfort in knowing everything has been successfully submitted before we part ways. A working email address, cell phone with text capability, and a debit/credit card will be required by the state to complete the application process.

Register for an individual 3hr Illinois Conceal Carry License (IL CCL) Renewal Course... where we come to you! This course is taught either in the comfort of your own home or in a public space, where we will go over all of the necessary curriculum mandated by the Illinois State Police. Either a provided television can be used (available HDMI port in working condition is required) or we will bring a laptop and/or projector along with us. The live-fire qualification takes place at J.R. Shooting Sports in Aurora IL prior to or following the slides presentation (depending on renewal time). Other ranges possible with 7 day advance notice.

This minimum 3hr renewal course is required for all current IL CCL holders every five years to maintain their active permit status, which includes successfully passing the 30 round live-fire qualification. A minimum of 100 rounds and two magazines is suggested. The classroom and range portion must take place on the same day.

Whether initially applying for your IL FOID Card or after successfully completing your Illinois Conceal Carry License course, we offer assistance uploading and submitting your documentation in person to the Illinois State Police... all in a matter of minutes!

We can help create your online account on the Portal (if you don't have existing login credentials), ensure all personal information is still current or make necessary changes, go through the mandatory background check questionnaire with you, take and upload a current picture, upload your signed course completion certification and/or affidavit, and submit your payment. We ensure everything you need to maintain your active status is successfully completed with ease and accuracy, preventing any possible lapses in coverage that could disqualify you from being able to legally own or carry your firearm as defined by 430 ILCS 66/65.

 Perfect for those with no or little experience with handguns! Also a great choice for those looking to hone their skills, learn a different type of sighting system or a new platform. No IL FOID card or personally-owned firearm needed! This intimate and in-depth session can be with SIRT pistol in the comfort of your own home or live-fire instruction at a range (location-dependent). The smaller setting ensures that your questions and/or concerns are addressed with the full attention of the instructor.

With the SIRT pistol, you'll will learn the fundamentals of shooting: grip, sight alignment and sight picture, target acquisition, stance, breathing and trigger squeeze. With the aid of dry fire, laser trainers and other useful tools and applications, you will receive real-time analysis and corrective feedback. Once safely and comfortably able to do so, we move into the live-fire exercises where we put the theory into practice. This is a great option for individuals, couples, friends or family interested in learning how to safely handle and fire handguns. Eye and ear protection is provided, if needed (cleaned and disinfected after each use). Rental firearms are available from the instructor with advance notice or through the range. Between 50 and 100 rounds is suggested, which you can bring with you or purchase at the range chosen for the live-fire. Please reach out prior to purchasing your private lesson(s). We want to ensure we have options available that suit your schedule but also do not overlap with other courses or lessons being taught.

NO LIVE AMMO IS PERMITTED FOR THE INDOOR SIRT TRAINING!

This 60min session will teach you the inner workings of your firearm, how to disassemble, clean, inspect, reassemble, and maintain is so you can keep it running for years to come... all from the comfort of your own home! Whether you're new to firearms or using a new platform, learning how to properly clean and maintain your weapon is vital to it's reliability and longevity. Teaching and cleaning alongside you on a similar platform, we will work with a handgun, shotgun or rifle (semi- and bolt-action) so you can see everything demonstrated and follow along with your personally-owned firearm. If you already have your own cleaning kit/supplies, you will learn how to correctly use each tool to prevent damage or malfunctions. If not, with advance notice we will provide each student a cleaning kit to be utilized for the day (separate fee). We'll also share with you ideas and recommendations for different products on the market that may be useful to you going forward. 

*PLEASE NOTE*: Only one platform and one firearm per cleaning session. One pair of latex-free gloves, eye protection, and a cleaning mat will be provided. Minors under 18yrs of age must be accompanied by a paying parent or legal guardian. Two student maximum per instructor. Cost is per student.
